At Last! An Activity That Creates Fitter, Safer, More Respectful and Confident Children!
Dear Fellow Parent,
Youth classes are for children aged 7 to 17 years. At Zen-Do we don’t just teach your child the physical aspects of martial arts like punching, kicking and self-defence.
We go a lot further, our classes contain lessons in intensity, manners, anger management, non-violent conflict resolution, history, goal setting, public speaking and team building.
We call this approach to balancing education and technique and “education based curriculum.” This rests on a foundation of education above tradition, technique, or country of origin.
Little Ninjas
For children aged 3 to 6 years we have a programme called Little Ninjas. The Little Ninjas programme is an age specific curriculum that is professionally designed to teach children important life skills in a fun, exciting and enriching manner.
Remember, we focus on character development. We won’t turn your child into a bully. We want him or her to become strong, independent, disciplined, and focused.
But don’t take my word for it...
Thank you for your updates and for giving our children the opportunity to be part of your club.
Rona is extremely excited and looks forward to every class. I have been attending most of her classes and the best thing I enjoyed was how you teach them to develop their self-confidence.
I thank you sincerely for the personal effort and attention you are giving to our children and for giving us the opportunity to enroll our children on a beneficial program which has many advantages and values.

Dear Suhail
How are you? I wanted to let you know the difference that Zen-Do Kick boxing classes has made to my kid’s approach towards.
To start with Ali (the elder one who’s 8), he’s picked the steps slowly but steadily, he has more confidence in him now, and the brief conversations that you have with the kids during the class benefits the parents as well as the students. Your approach with the kids leaves a strong impact on them, they implement and follow your foot steps seeing you as their role model.
Where else, Ammar (who’s 5 ½) he is in total love with these classes, he enjoys every minute of it, every strip that he gets makes him feel a step higher, which boosts his confidence and self esteem.
After starting Ammar with Little Ninjas, I feel it’s never too early to start a child with any activity.
Finally, I want to thank you for your guidance and hope we move ahead with these classes for many years to come.
Regards,
Batul Dadabai |

As you know, Zen-do Kickboxing helped my 12-year-old daughter deal with a bullying situation at school. Christina had been bothered by bullying on and off ever since starting school at age five and last year it reached an all-time high with one child in particular out to 'needle' her at every opportunity. I had spoken about the matter to the class teacher, who talked to the girls as a group with no result other than that they afterwards shut Christina in a cupboard. Christina is by nature a non-confrontational and very gentle person - she would rather have backed down or fallen in with the wishes of a group rather than make a fuss, and was always the last to get on the boat or ask for what she wanted - meaning she frequently missed out because 'if you're not fast, you're last'!.
However, on one particular day the bully in question finally went too far while the girls were getting changed in the changing room. She pulled a scab off another child and tried to force it into Christina's mouth, whereupon Christina, who had been doing Zen-do Kickboxing with you for about six months, pinned her against the wall with one hand while delivering a well-aimed left hook with the other (much to the amazement of the other kids!). The offender left her alone after that and from then on tried to befriend Christina, who would have nothing to do with her. On another occasion she dealt with someone who was repeatedly kicking her on the shins, despite having been asked to stop several times, by giving them a roundhouse kick. Again, that child (who is actually a friend!) has never used physical violence against her again - something she used to do frequently to get her own way with Christina.
Although Christina is still very much opposed to the use of any sort of violence and understands fully that Martial Arts should never be used against another person except in cases of self-defence, she felt that on both occasions her actions were justified. Certainly, the tactics worked and she no longer seems to be bothered by bullying. As you know, she has had to stop Zen-do because of other commitments but she - and her father and I - very much appreciate the confidence it gave her to deal with those situations. She still has the Zen-do Student Creed on her wall and Alice has been showing her the new moves she has learnt because she's still very interested (also, she's met a boy who has a punchbag but no gloves, while she has gloves but no bag.....!).
Christina is now having a much happier time at school and seems generally more confident, prepared to take the lead in a group situation and speak her mind. This is something that took her nearly 13 years to achieve but I believe it will stay with her throughout her life, proving that her year of Zen-do Kickboxing was invaluable in helping form an important part of her character.
Kind regards,
Tanya Lunn (Mrs)
